To my Grandfather
I just want to thank you for all the times you woke me up for school in the morning, sprinkling water on my face, giving me lunch money, always made sure there were hot pancakes for breakfast with the edges a bit crisp to my liking, lol, your famous grits and purple kool-aid. Thank you for being the teacher, teaching me right from wrong, what type of man I should be interested in, what kind of people I can call a friend, knowing the difference from the good & bad no matter what anyone or anything may look like. Teaching me that flowers are pretty and women are beautiful. You were always so strong, I've never seen you down, a true soldier you are. I love you forever.
