We knew you since High School. We all had dreams and careers but nothing stopped us from keeping in touch and checking on what was happening in our lives. You will be so missed. I saw a funny meme a few days ago and I laughed because you and I would have sent it to each other and laughed hysterically- and then I cried because I could not send it. Rest In Peace Joaquin. Hard to believe this. Thank you for letting us share your special day with you. Our hearts and prayers are with Juliet. Your Hillcrest (Crestians) family sends prayers to all your loved ones.

Joaquin and I met in nursing school and most recently worked together virtually. Joaquin was a brother to me. His honesty and advice was so pure. He inspired me to do better and always pushed me beyond limits. Always said “Britt, I’m so proud of you”. He was such an amazing person, who always put his family first.
I’m thankful for the knowledge and wisdom you have poured into me.
I will continue to pray for Juliet, his beautiful wife and family.

Joaquin was a close childhood friend and schoolmate. When we reconnected the last few years we realized the common situations we were living through. They were never discussed when we were young, but some how they drew us together and let us know our friendship was safe. While looking for the photo of us, I found the one of Joaquin singing in a school holiday performance when we were 8 or 9 - always bringing joy with his singing. His kindness in friendship will live on as I use his example to teach my daughter to be a good friend, especially to those who are having a harder time. My deepest sympathies to his family and Juliet - I could hear his immense joy and love as he shared about you.
