I just saw a picture of her bench at Centennial School in the school calendar. I didn't know she had passed. I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't want to tell my grandson. He loves her still. He graduated from high school last year and he did really well because of the excellent start Ms. Miles gave him! I used to volunteer in her class and I saw firsthand how she was a beacon to her students. They ALL loved her. I watched older, former students come hug her after school. I'm so sad I will never see her again. I wish you, her family, comfort and peace. We will never forget her.

Let me tell you about this jewel right here. What you are seeing is a legend, encourager, seamstress, educator, an artist, a mother, a wife, a giver. She was the epitome of Proverbs 31 “THE WHOLE CHAPTER”. I am so grateful to call her my co-worker. She played her gospel every morning saturating her classroom with God”s presence. Her love for children let us know she was CALLED while some went!!! Myles would even have prayer gatherings in her room. Her class was her second home. A big butterfly and Jets fan !!! She would dress up for woman’s history month like the women who inspired her. Queen would have a whole monologue to go with it.
I remember her praying for me, encouraging me, loving on not just me but my child. We had some laughts together and some tears. She was truly the heartbeat of our school. She would have breakfast gatherings, lunch gatherings, and started a cafe room so people can get a quick breakfast…Mrs. Myles would have a end of the year party for her students. It looked like an amusement park in her backyard….Talk about a crushing of the heart because we will be missing her. I am blessed to have given her a big hug and encouragement before she left our building. As the staff wear butterfly pins in honor of her, may we continue to be beautiful like a butterfly and soar with our wings just like she did. I love you Mrs.Myles. Job well done Queen. Your time has come to receive your crown ! #RipMrsMyles

Vanessa was one of a kind. She was concerned about everyone but herself. She wanted everyone to have a good time. She loved teaching. Her students was her joy. Her son and daughter was the light of life. Her husband was never compared to to anyone because he was her world. The Jets lost one of their greatest fans. May God console every life she touched. She will be forever missed.
