I remember the last time we saw him was at a family gathering we had at my house, he kept on saying how much he enjoyed himself, and we enjoyed him to. He also called me about a few months back to give me inspiring words. I am so sorry I can't be there but, do know if I could I would be there. I love you all and God bless.❤️

I didn’t know James but I know his brother Roosevelt Harris well. I send prayers to the Lassiter and Harris families. May James’ soul be at peace and he be welcomed into the Kingdom of God with much love.

Growing up in the small town of Mapleton North Carolina; outside of my parents, there were very few role models to look up to. For me it was always my big brother James. I always wanted to be like him in every way; wanted to dress like him, wanted to dance like him and be an outstanding football player like him. More important, was to become the man, husband and father he was. Looking back, I can honestly say, I became the man, husband and father my role model was. I love him and I am going to miss him very much.
